Career Guide · Mumbra

Your first job, explained.

A plain, honest guide for students and freshers in Mumbra — what a call-centre / BPO job actually is (call centre job kya hota hai?), what it pays, what skills really matter, and exactly how to start. No jargon, no false promises. Just the facts — and if you like what you read, we happen to hire locally too.

The basics

What is a BPO or call-centre job?

In simple words: you help people over the phone or computer. Call centre job kya hota hai? — it is office work where you speak with, or handle records for, customers of a business. Many companies in India, including ours, run a UK business process — that means the customers are businesses and people in the United Kingdom, and your job is to support them. It is clean, indoor, team-based office work.

Voice process

You speak with customers on the phone — helping, explaining, solving. Good if you enjoy talking to people. This is what telecaller and customer support roles mean.

Non-voice / back-office

You work on the computer — checking records, updating accounts, sorting information. No calling. Good if you prefer quiet desk work.

UK business process

The customers are in the UK. You are trained on exactly what to say and do — you are never expected to already know it.

Here’s the part we’re proud of: many of our own team studied right here — at colleges in and around Mumbra and Kausa — and every day they speak confidently with our clients in the United Kingdom. Local talent, global work. You don’t need to leave Mumbra to build a real career.

A normal day

So what do you actually do all day?

Honestly, it is calmer than most people imagine. You sit at a desk with a computer and a headset. You take or make calls, follow a simple script you have been trained on, and note down what was said. There is a fixed break, a team around you, and a team leader you can ask when you are stuck. That is it — no field work, no travelling, no targets you were not told about.

  • Indoor & air-conditioned — you are at one desk, not running around the city.
  • You are trained first — nobody puts you on a live call before you are ready.
  • A team, not alone — there is always someone senior to ask.
  • Fixed hours & a break — you know exactly when you start, break and finish.
The money

How much can you earn?

Let us be straight about pay, because that is what everyone really wants to know. A fresher starting a call-centre job in Mumbra can expect a fixed monthly salary, paid on time — and performance incentives on top, so the more you do, the more you earn.

Rs 12,000–25,000 / month

Freshers start at Rs 12,000; it rises with experience and performance. Your exact figure is set at your interview.

Incentives on top

Performance incentives from Rs 2,000, uncapped. Good work is rewarded, not just noticed.

No fees, ever

A real employer never charges you to apply or to join. If anyone asks for money for a “job”, walk away.

Getting started

No degree? No experience? You can still start.

This is the part most people get wrong. You do not need a degree, and you do not need experience to begin. Fresher ke liye job is exactly how most people in this industry started — including many who now lead teams.

12th pass is enough

There is no minimum qualification. If you have finished 12th, you can apply. Graduates are welcome too.

Freshers are trained

You are taught the job from day one. “No experience” is not a problem — it is the normal starting point.

Age 18 and above

If you are 18 or older and willing to learn, you meet the basic bar. The rest we teach you.

Willingness beats polish

Employers here hire attitude and train skill. Turning up on time and being coachable matters more than a perfect CV.

Skills that matter

“Is my English good enough?”

The honest answer: you do not need perfect, fluent English. You need to be understood, and to understand others. Comprehension matters far more than accent. And the good news — this is a skill you can build for free, starting today.

Read aloud, daily

Read any English news or book out loud for 10 minutes a day. This single habit improves clarity faster than anything else.

Watch & copy

Watch English shows or YouTube with subtitles, then repeat the lines. Your ear and confidence grow together.

Speak without fear

Nobody speaks perfectly at first. The people who improve are simply the ones who keep speaking. Mistakes are part of it.

The other skills — listening, patience, basic computer use — you already have or will pick up quickly on the job.

After college & part-time

Can you do this after college?

A lot of students search for a part time job — what they really mean is “something that fits around my morning college.” Here is the honest answer: many BPO shifts, including ours, run in the afternoon and evening. So you can attend college in the morning and earn in the evening, with weekends off. It is a full, proper job — but the timing is built to fit a student’s day.

  • Morning free for college — the shift starts in the afternoon.
  • Weekends off — Saturday and Sunday to yourself.
  • Earn while you study — be a little more independent, support your own education.

The ladder

Where a call-centre job can take you.

A first job is a starting point, not a ceiling. In a BPO, growth is based on how you perform — and the path is clear and real. We will not pretend it is instant, but it is genuinely open to anyone who does well.

  1. 1Executive
  2. 2Senior Executive
  3. 3Team Leader
  4. 4Assistant Manager

Progression depends on your performance and on roles being available. We will not pretend otherwise.

For women

Is this a good job for women?

Yes — and you would not be the only one. Women are already a valued part of the team here in Kausa, Mumbra. Many joined as freshers, were trained on the job, and have grown from there. For those who prefer not to be on calls, the back-office (non-voice) roles suit very well. A professional job, close to home, with weekends off.

Crack the interview

How to prepare for a call-centre interview.

Call centre job kaise kare? — it starts with a simple interview, and it is more relaxed than you fear. Here is honestly all you need to do well.

1

Reach on time, dress smart

Being punctual and neatly dressed already puts you ahead of half the room. That is genuinely most of it.

2

Speak slowly and clearly

You are not being judged on accent. Speak at a calm pace so you are easy to understand — that is what they are listening for.

3

Be ready for a short English chat

They may ask you to talk about yourself, your area, or your day in English. Practise this out loud at home a few times.

4

Be honest and be yourself

If you are a fresher, say so with confidence — they are hiring freshers on purpose. Willingness to learn is the answer they want.

And remember — a real job never asks you to pay a fee. Not for the interview, not for training, not to join.

Myths vs facts

Clearing up the common worries.

“It is only for boys.”

Fact: No. Women work here already, and back-office roles suit many who prefer non-calling work.
