How Sales Commission Works When You Sell Five Products, Not One
Success Ladder Team · 8 September 2026
Most sales jobs share the same ceiling: one customer, one sale. However good you are, your number is capped by how many separate people you can reach. The job at our Mumbra contact centre is built differently, and it is worth understanding why before you judge any sales role by its basic alone.
Five products, one customer
We sell electricity, gas, water, waste and broadband to UK businesses. A single business often needs more than one of these. So when you win a customer, you are not making one sale — you can place three, four, or five products with the same person, in the same relationship you have already built.
Bonus counts per product
Here is the part that matters for your pay: bonus is counted per product sold, not per customer. Four products from one customer counts as four sales. Our first bonus tier starts at four sales — which means a single well-worked customer can get you there. Above that, commission is uncapped.
What that looks like in a month (an illustration)
Say you win two good business customers in a month and work them properly. If each takes several products, you can be at around ten sales — comfortably past the first bonus tier. These are illustrations, not promises; your real numbers depend on you and how smart you work. But the point stands: the model rewards working each customer fully, not just chasing volume.
Our strongest closers can do very well this way, close to home in Mumbra, with weekends off.
