Warm Sales, Not Cold Calls: What Our Voice Job Really Involves
Success Ladder Team · 25 August 2026
The word “sales” puts a lot of people off before they have really thought about it. It brings to mind cold calls, slammed doors and pushy targets. So let us be completely honest about the voice role we hire for in Mumbra: it is a warm-sales job — and that makes all the difference.
Warm leads, not cold calls
A “cold call” is when you ring a stranger who never asked to hear from you. We do not do that. You speak with warm, interested customers — people who have already shown interest (what the industry calls “hot leads”). The hardest part — getting someone to listen — is already done. Your job is to help them and guide them to the right option.
A mix of helping and selling
It is not pure selling. Much of the role is understanding what the customer needs, answering their questions, and presenting the option that genuinely fits them. Yes, there is a sales element — but it is the natural kind that comes from helping someone make a good decision, not from pressure.
No aggressive targets, no pressure
There are no unrealistic targets designed to make you fail, and no aggressive tactics. You are trained properly, you follow a clear process, and you are supported by a team and a team leader. Good, honest conversations are what work — and that is exactly what we train you to have.
Why warm sales makes a great first job
- You build real skills — communication, confidence, and the ability to guide a conversation. Those are worth money in any career.
- You earn more when you do well — on top of a fixed salary there are uncapped performance incentives, so effort is genuinely rewarded.
- It suits people, not just “born salesmen.” If you are a good listener who can hold a friendly conversation, you can do this. Freshers do it every day.
Who it suits — and who it does not
It suits you if you enjoy talking to people, want to build your confidence, and like the idea of earning more when you perform. It is probably not for you if you would rather never speak to a customer at all — and it is far better to know that before you apply than after. Being honest about this saves everyone’s time.
